Kenyon Dressed Himself!

Kenyon insisted on getting dressed all by himself this morning. He has been trying for a while, but today is the first time he did it all without any help. From the looks of things he could have used some help, but in all I think he did a pretty good job.
Here he is showing off his socks. Yes, that one is inside-out and upside-down, but they are on!

Here is a view from the back, or what should be the front of his shirt! At least his underwear is on the right way!

Kyler's Turn

When Kyler saw me doing the other posts he was disappointed that there weren't any pictures of him with Evelyn, so now there is. We love you Kyler!

Rockets with the Henningson's

We went down West yesterday, February 28th, to set off rockets with the Henningson's and Kendall's Scouts. Here is a picture of J's rocket and J watching it go.

The wind made it a little chilly, but Evelyn didn't mind.
Kaylee and Kenyon spent a lot of the time in Grandpa's truck with Grandma. It was easier on us when they were in there, because when they were out they were running all over the place.

Kyler and Russell. (The shovel is for digging rockets out of the ground when/if the parachute doesn't work and they nose dive into the mud, which one did.)

We were able to get the kids all in one place for a family picture. Thanks to Kendall and Grandpa Henningson for such a fun afternoon!

Draper Temple Open House

We were able to go up to the Draper Temple Open House on Tuesday, February 24th. We took Kyler out of school after lunch, dropped Evelyn off at Grandma Slim's and were on our way. The kids loved it. They thought it was pretty neat that they could go inside the temple. We were also happy that my mom was able to go with us. We are so grateful that she is doing so much better and can do fun things with us again, that is when dad lets her leave the county. We can't wait until we can go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House this summer.

Kenyon and his Frog Hat

Kenyon found this frog hat, that my sister, Jenny, gave to us when Kaylee was a baby. Since he loves lime green and hats, he likes to wear it, even though he wears it sideways (I've fixed it many times and he turns it back).

Kaylee, Kenyon, & Evelyn

Kaylee & Evelyn

Kaylee loves her baby sister. Whenever I take pictures of Evelyn, Kaylee has to join in. She also keeps her company a lot of the time. I almost feel sorry for Evelyn sometimes because of all the attention she gets from Kaylee. Hopefully they will always be good friends.

Evelyn is Six Months Old!

Evelyn turned SIX months old on Wednesday, February 25th. I can't believe it's been six months already! She is rolling all over the place and loves to "jump" on her back. Kaylee has started calling her "Frog" because she jumps backwards. It looks like a frog (except she is on her back and is going backwards). It is cute, except for when she jumps right out of her diaper when you are trying to do it up. We are so glad to have her in our family. She doesn't have her doctors check-up until March 16th, but we will update you on her stats then.

Evelyn's New Tricks

Here is Evelyn holding her own bottle. I love it when they get to this stage! It makes life so much easier to give her a bottle and let her take care of the rest, especially with three other kids at home. I still make sure I hold her while she eats her last bottle just before bed, and sometimes during the day depending what is going on, but it is so nice to not have to tell the other kids "not now" because I have to feed her.

Evelyn has another new trick! Yesterday, Saturday February 28, she started getting up on her hands and knees. Most of the time when she does, she looks around and just giggles because she is so proud of herself. This is the only picture I've been able to get. She either goes down too soon, or one of her siblings jumps in the way of the camera. Oh well, she is still way cute.

Kyler's Valentine's Day Box

This is Kyler's Valentine's Day box that Russell helpd him make for their party at school. Kyler has been really interested in outer space lately, so we thought it would be fun to make Saturn for him. Kyler and Kaylee had a lot of fun helping make it. They would dip the paper strips in the glue and hand them to Russell. I think it turned out pretty good, but now Russell has plans for a better and bigger one next year. Anyway, Kyler liked it and so did his friends at school. We hope that everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day!

Names in the Snow

We went for a walk to the temple last Sunday. While we were there we noticed the huge blank canvas of snow. Well we couldn't let it go unused, so Russell helped the kids put their names in it. If you look closely you can see Kyler's name in the middle. He did that one all by himself and I think he did a pretty good job.

Admiring the finished product. Kyler liked how much better Kaylee's name was than his, so he had Russell help him do his again.

I think that they look pretty good. We were lazy and only did Kyler and Kaylee because they are the only two that can read, and Evelyn was ready to go by the time we got done with them. I'm sure that is something that we will do a lot more often now that the kids know how neat it looks.

Evelyn Eating Food

We gave Evelyn her first taste of Peas today. She really enjoyed sitting in the high chair having Kaylee and Kenyon swoon over her.

She wasn't too sure about the eating thing though. I got a lot of funny facial expressions out of her. Below are a few that I was able to get pictures of...

This one is my favorite!

She did ok, but we had to feed her a bottle afterwards because she was still hungry. I'm sure she will get better at it and enjoy it more every day.

Kenyon & Evelyn

Kenyon has decided that he likes to hold Evelyn. The other day at church, Russell had Evelyn when he went to pick up Kenyon from nursery. Kenyon wanted to be carried, so Russell told him to hold the baby and Russell picked up both of them. We have Sacrament Meeting last, so as Russell was walking down the hall, holding Kenyon who was holding Evelyn, he had several people try to help him by taking Evelyn. Well Kenyon would not let go and would scream every time someone tried. It was quite the site. I wish I had some pictures, but I don't take my phone to church, so we don't have any. We were at least 15 minutes into Sacrament Meeting before Kenyon would let me take Evelyn away.
Here are some pictures of him holding her at home. He is also feeding her.

Some more news on Kenyon. He is pretty much potty trained! Yeah!! The first day we put underwear on him was a battle. It took me a good 10 minutes to get them on him and then he screamed for another 20. Well the first couple of days he had several accidents and didn't even care about them. Sunday, we decided he better wear a pull-up to church because he hadn't gone a full day without an accident. Well it took Russell about 15 minutes to get the pull-up on him, he wanted underwear! We didn't take him for a potty break at church because we were afraid of another fit, so he did need the pull-up. Anyway, since then he has done really well. He has gone Wednesday, Thursday, and so far today with out any problems. I guess he is making up for how difficult the others were to potty train. I just hope he doesn't regress.

Happy New Year!

We want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!
