Fourth of July!

We had a fun 4th of July! We went to the City Park in Manti (a tradition from our childhood) and had a nice time visiting with old friends and pushing the kids on the swings! To finish things off the kids got a snow cone. I don't think that Kyler was too excited to pose for pictures, we took about 6 and he has the same facial expression in all of them. Maybe we should have taken them before they got worn out. Thanks to Grandma Henningson for the cute clothes, the kids love them!

We ended the night by watching the City Fireworks from our front porch. It was nice to not have to leave home to watch them!

Kyler is a Great Big Brother!

Kyler was so nice and helped Kenyon ride his bike home from Grandma Slim's house. He wasn't too excited about it at first, but I think he enjoyed it once he got started.

Kaylee's Art Projects

Kaylee has been having lots of fun lately with some art projects she's decided to do.

As far as I know she did everything herself, including cutting them out. She has played with them so much that Mickey has needed to be taped together and the only tape she could find was masking tape. I think that we might have a budding artist on our hands!

10 Months Old!

Doctor Check-Ups

Kenyon and Evelyn had their doctor check-ups today. Kenyon's was his three year and Evelyn's was her 9 month. They both did really well and are growing pretty good. Of course, Evelyn is still tiny. She weighs 15.15 lbs and is 27.5 inches long. That puts her in the 1% for weight and the 36% for height. Kenyon is a monster! He weighs 36 lbs and is 39.5 inches tall. He is in the 87% for weight and 90% for height. They are both healthy and neither had to get shots so it was a good visit.

Evelyn likes the computer too!

Evelyn loves to just stand and watch the other kids play on the computer. She will stand there and coo and laugh at them. I'm sure she will be a computer whiz just like the others.

Kyler at Cub Scout Day Camp

Kyler had Cub Scout Day Camp on Wednesday. I can't believe he is old enough to go. He isn't 8 yet, but will be before September 1 so he could go this year. He was a little nervous, because he's never been to any scout stuff yet, so Russell went with for the first hour or so. I was raining so they had it inside. I went down at about 1:30 pm to help out and stayed until 4:30 pm when it was over. Kyler had a lot of fun and is really excited about starting scouts now. He was a little disappointed when I told him that Day Camp is just once a year and the once a week meetings are only 1 hour long. I'm sure he will still enjoy it, we have some really good leaders.

Kenyon Turns 3!!!

Well, my baby boy turned 3 years old on Wednesday! I can't believe how much he has grown lately. Here he is right after he blew out the candle.

Here is his Birthday cake. I think I did a pretty good job. It only took two tries, the first on stuck to the pan and just fell apart when I tried to cut the eyes and legs, so I gave up and tried again. It worked much better the second time. I got the idea from my sister, Jenny. I figured it was perfect to do for Kenyon because he loves green so much, and I enjoyed it too 'cause I like frogs.

Here are some pictures from the day he was born. Russell was going to take Kyler to see the movie "Cars" in the theater Friday, June 9, 2006. It was the first time Kyler would have gone to the theater to see a movie. Well at 6 pm the contractions intensified (I had been having contractions every 5 minutes since May 23. My doctor had also stripped my membranes the Wednesday before) so we decided they better not go. At 10 pm Amy (Russell's sister) came over to watch the kids so Russell and I could go to the hospital. As I remember Kenyon was born around 2 am. (We have moved 3 times since he was born and I currently can't find my info on it.) He weighed 7 lbs and 6 ozs and was about 18 inches long (again I don't remember for sure). Russell took Kyler to the movie that night and Kenyon and I went home Sunday morning.

We all love Kenyon very much and are glad he is a part of our family!

Kenyon Sleeping

Kenyon had a stomach bug last week. I guess it wiped him out, because he took a nap almost every day (and he hasn't had consistent naps since he was 1). Here are some fun pictures we took of him sleeping.

Kids

The kids are doing really well and enjoying summer break! I don't know how I managed to take so many pictures and not get any of Kaylee, usually she is in all of them!

Evelyn is growing fast and turned 9 months last week. I will post her stats when we go to the doctor on the 16th. She loves to stand and "talk" to anyone that will talk back.

Kenyon loves to hold Evelyn, and will hold her whenever we (meaning Evelyn too) will let him. Sometimes I have one screaming kid no matter what. Kenyon screams if we don't let him hold her and Evelyn screams if Kenyon is holding her! I guess it's good he loves her so much.

Computer Junkie

Kaylee is following in her older brothers footsteps and is becoming quite the computer junkie. Her favorite websites are Playhouse Disney and PBS Kids. It's amazing how much kids can do on computers without even being able to read. Tawnya and Nadean were able to get us a used Mac that we've set up too. It is nice to have two computers so the kids don't fight over them as much, it is also nice that one is a PC and the other is a Mac so they can grow up using both. It won't be long before Kenyon is able to navigate a computer too.
