Yard Work

Now that spring is finally here, we are getting some yard work done. Russell rented a tractor last week, during his and the kids' Spring Break, and got our top soil spread out. The kids really had fun "driving" the tractor with him.

Then Saturday, we spent most of the afternoon raking the back yard. The kids had fun using their own tools, and Kenyon had a ball putting rocks in the wheel barrow. We hope to plant some grass by this weekend, but I guess that depends on the weather (we got about 2 inches of snow yesterday, and since it was so cold it took most of today for it to melt).

Egg Decorating

I finally found my connector to download my pictures from my phone, so now I can post pictures again. We decorated Easter Eggs with my family, and some of Charlotte's friends, on Sunday March 16. Kenyon slept through the whole thing, but Kyler and Kaylee had lots of fun.

I don't know where she gets it from, but the only color Kaylee wanted to use was pink, so she had four pink Easter Eggs. Sometimes I wonder if she does it just to bug me, but that is what kids are supposed to do right?

Kyler had almost as much fun organizing his eggs as he did coloring them, that I know he gets from me.

Big News!

Well I guess I will make it official and post it on our blog. We are expecting another baby! My current due date is September 6, but I expect it to be moved up when we have the ultrasound. All of the other kids were moved up and then came early, which was good since I was having contractions for weeks to a month before. Anyway, I'm expecting that it will in late August. I am feeling pretty good now, but for a couple months there I wasn't doing too great. I'm glad that part is over. Anyway, we are pretty excited, especially Kyler and Kaylee. I'm sure Kenyon will enjoy having a baby around too (see the previous posts of him and Rylie). I'm hoping it's a girl because I have a girl name (Evelyn Marie, Evelyn is my mom's middle name and Marie is Russell's grandma's name) and Kaylee needs a little sister, but I'm not convinced it's a girl. We will keep you updated with news as it comes.

Our 6th Annual Trip To The Car Show

We have gone to the car show every year since Kyler was 1, so when he saw the commercials for it on TV he asked if we were going. Of course we had to go, so we went last Saturday. The kids love being able to see all of the cars and truck and to be able to climb in and out of them all they want. Here are some pictures of the fun they had:

Kaylee trying out the Corvette and Hummer.

Kaylee and Kenyon having fun pushing all of the buttons.

Kenyon thought it was really neat to "drive" all the different cars and trucks.

Kyler having fun just hanging around.

Kyler and Kaylee thought it was neat to go under the Hummer, but they would not hold still long enough to get a decent picture. Kenyon would not go anywhere near it.

The Mayan

We have tried several times to make it into the Mayan to eat. Most of the attempts failed because of 2 hour waiting lists, but one failed due to remodeling. Well we finally made it in last weekend, and we only had to wait 1 hour for it to open. The kids really liked it and want to go back. It was pretty neat and the food was pretty good and not too expensive either, so I'm sure we will be back.

Kyler Lost His First Tooth

Kyler finally lost his first tooth on January 12, 2008.

He was excited about it and looks pretty good without it.

Christmas Day

Kyler and Kaylee had fun playing with their Christmas...

...And their cousins' Christmas, too.

Elizabeth, Kyler, Alan, Kaylee, & Joshua playing a game at Grandma Henningson's on Christmas Day. (Elizabeth, Alan, & Joshua are my sister Jenny's kids and they came from Wisconsin to have Christmas with the Henningsons.)

Kenyon Loves Babies

Kenyon has decided that he loves babies and dolls. I'm sure it comes from Kendall & Sheri's new baby Rylie. He loves to hold her whenever someone will let him, and pouts when we take her away.

Since we won't let him hold her all the time he has taken over some of Kaylee's dolls and loves to carry them around. It is so fun to watch.

Christmas Eve in Our New House

We finished the house enough to move into it on Friday, December 21, 2007. Thanks to my dad and Kendall for helping so much at the end to make it possible, and thanks to mom and Sheri for letting them help us. We still have the basement to finish and a few little details upstairs, but it is so nice to be in our own home again.
We had the Henningson Christmas Eve Party at our house and it was a lot of fun. We had 23 people there and I think everyone had a great time.

Here is a picture of us in front of our new fire place ready to go to bed in our new Christmas PJs.

Christmas Tree Hunting

We took a break from painting Saturday to go get a Christmas tree. We found a really nice one. Kyler and Kaylee thought it was fun. Kenyon fell asleep on the way up and slept through the whole thing, which was nice for us. Here is a picture of us with the tree, even though you can't see the tree very well.

New House Update

I thought I would update everyone on how the new house is coming. We spent all weekend (from Tuesday to Saturday, I say weekend becuase it was long because of Thanksgiving and every day felt like Saturday) painting. We got the ceiling and walls DONE!! We still have to paint the trim and the closets, but that doesn't feel like much after what we've already done. I don't have any pictures, I was too busy painting. I will try to remember to take some and post them. My dad is doing the finish electrical for us and he has the kitchen, front room and hall done except for lights. It is really starting to look like a house. We expect to be in anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks, which means before Christmas!!

Here are some pictures of Kyler helping Russell Blow the insulation into the attic. He is smiling under his mask, even though it doesn't look like it. He has been such a good helper with the house.

Being Tagged

The rules of the game should be posted at the beginning of the post. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

1. I am the mother of three wonderful children. Kyler is 6 and loves school and helping dad. Kaylee is 3 and loves to ride the bus and is always talking. Kenyon is 17 months and is just starting to show his unique personality. I love being a mother, but I'm sure part of the reason I love it so much is because Russell is such a wonderful father.

2. Which leads me to number two, but it probably should have been number one. I am married to the most wonderful man in the world. He is my best friend and has been for over 14 years, he supports me in everything I do, he helps with the kids and loves it, he honors his Priesthood, he is a hard worker and the best thing of all is that he loves me for who I am and doesn't try to change me.

3. We are getting really close to being done with our house. The sheetrock is almost ready to start being mudded. We are pretty sure we will be in before Christmas and we can't wait for it to be done and to have more than one bathroom, except that means I have to clean more than one bathroom, so I hope it is as nice as it sounds.

4. I don't really like to cook. Sometimes I like to bake things, especially if it has chocolate in it, but I would be happy if I never had to fix another dinner again. Since I don't like to cook that much, I usually don't, especially lately since we've been so busy with the house. It seems like we live on cold cereal, oatmeal, sandwiches and toast, which is fine with me, at least until we are in the house.

5. I love math. My dream is to retake the Calculus and Differential Equations series at Snow College now that I know how and where to apply it. I think my favorite kind of math problem to do is Trigonometric Proofs and I would often do more than what the teacher assigned. I can't wait for our kids to start taking math classes so I can do math homework again.

6. It was harder that I thought it would be to come up with 6 things to write about myself.

I tagged Jenny Fife, Jenny Welch, Kristy, Kara, Mariah, and Moriya.

Cowboy Boots

Kyler thought is was neat when he noticed that Grandpa Slim wears cowboy boots just like his, except for a lot bigger.

Ladder Boy

Kenyon loves to climb the ladders while he is at the building lot. This is the highest he has gotten, but he had to ask for help to get back down by saying "stuck".
