Silly Kenyon

Last week at preschool they had an un-birthday party for Kenyon.  He was so excited about it before he went and when he got back.  He understands what birthday's are, so he announced to me that he wasn't 4 any more he was now 5!  It took me two days to convince him that he is still 4 and that it was an "un-birthday" not his real birthday!

Halloween 2010

We started the celebrations by carving pumpkins for FHE on Monday.
We let the kids design their own.

Here are Kenyon's and Kaylee's...

... Evelyn's (A puppy dog, which was designed by Kyler)...

... Kyler's (Kyler carved it too.  It is a face made out of a rocket!) and Russell's & mine.

My mom was so nice and made some of our Halloween costumes this year.

Kaylee wanted to be Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty).  My mom did an INCREDIBLE job on the dress and Kaylee loved it.

It's amazing what my mom can do with a couple of old curtains!

Kyler wanted to be an Astronaut this year, so we ordered some patches online and had my mom make him a Flight Suit.  She even made him a patch with his name on it!

Kenyon wanted to be Handy Manny again this year.  I was worried that when he saw the new costumes my mom made for the others he would feel bad or change his mind, but he didn't.  He loved every minute of being dressed up, and would get really excited when someone called him Handy Manny.

Since Evelyn spends most of her time acting like a puppy dog, we figured she should be one for Halloween.  I think she looked really cute in the costume my mom made for her.

Here we are ready to go trick-or-treating to family and then to the city trunk-or-treat.

THANK YOU Grandma Henningson for the wonderful costumes!
We love you!

Kyler Meets An Astronaut!

On September 10th Russell had the Fall Camporee for Scouts.  They went to Mt Pleasant to listen to an astronaut speak, spend the night at the park and then go to the Fly-In.  We knew that we had to let Kyler go with them because of how much he likes outer space.  Kyler has even said that he wants to work for NASA when he grows up.

The astronaut he was able to meet was Space Shuttle Commander Rick Searfoss.  Kyler was able to talk with him for a few minutes before his presentation.

Kyler really enjoyed the pictures from the presentation...

Afterwards, Kyler was able to have Commander Searfoss autograph his Camporee Badge.

They also got a group picture with Commander Searfoss.  You can see the excitement on Kyler's face.

We even let Kyler sleep over with them and then learn about rockets and space exploration at the merit badge classes the next day.  He really enjoyed the experience and still talks about how neat it was.

It's Fair Time!

Last week was the Sanpete County Fair.  The kids had been begging us to take them all week, but Saturday was the only day we could, so they had to wait until then.  I guess the wait was worth it, because they loved it!

While we were there, we met up with Rylie, Braxton, Sheri and Kendall.

Kyler enjoyed going on the Big Swings with Kendall and Braxton!

The Roller Coaster was Kenyon's favorite ride.  He went on it at least 10 times!

Kendall was nice and took all of the kids on the Ferris Wheel with him.  They are in the pink seat.  Kaylee and Rylie were so excited about that.

Kaylee's favorite was the Fun Slide.  She went on it until she couldn't climb the stairs anymore!

Kyler didn't have a favorite ride this year.  The Tilt-A-Whirl was his favorite last year and he was a little disappointed that it wasn't there this year.  They all had lots of fun and after FOUR hours they still wanted to ride more, but it was time for the Parade!

Kyler was in the parade this year!  Russell pulled the Scout float and Kyler was able to be one of the Cub Scouts on it.  He thought that was really neat.

Evelyn's favorite part was the candy!

Now they can't wait until next year!
